All About Me!

My first competition was Miss Photographic North in which I came first and was then put forward to Miss Scotia, in Stirling, and reached the final 10. I then entered Miss Take a Break, through their magazine, and reached the finals in Leeds. From that the biggest pageant organisers Beauty Competition News, they run Miss England etc., put me forward to Miss Scotland, before it was taken over by a certain newspaper. I was runner up in that in Glasgow, but never got any recognition for it. Following that I was supposed to go on to Miss UK for Aberdeen and get photos then, but it never happened.

Not deterred I then went on to enter a lot of competitions and won through to all the finals in those throughout the years — Final 6 in Face of 2000, Final 10 in Search for a Model, Finalist in National Competition Girl Next Door
to name but a few.......

I then went to Glasgow University Dental School to become a Dental Hygienist and graduated in December 2000. I soon became established in Aberdeen working in several Dental Practices and spent spare time song writing, something I had been doing over the past few years. Answering an ad in the local paper I teamed up with local producers and dj’s Compuphonic and released a demo c.d. with two tracks, backing by them but songs and lyrics by me. This gave me the courage to then enter the biggest talent competition in the UK, The Variety Club’s Festival4Stars. I won through in two singing categories. The Regional Finals are at The Forum, Aberdeen on 1st November.

At the same time the contest Miss Great Britain 2004 were looking for entrants so I decided to go for it and to my surprise was selected to go to the finals at the Café de Paris, London in June..........

As a Miss Great Britain finalist I was then selected by BCNews to go forward to the finals of Miss Commonwealth UK as Miss Aberdeen. I reached the final 12 as the only girl from Scotland. Northsound Radio kindly stepped in to offer me sponsorship to attend the grand event at Leamington Spa on October 1st 2004. From there I was bombarded with offers of Model of the World Scotland, Miss Earth Scotland and then Miss Commonwealth Scotland. It was a tough decision to choose which one to accept as this opened the opportunity to travel to China and the Philippines.
